The Ray Gun

2015-16, oil on panel, 12x16in.

A bit of an anomaly, this painting has been in my studio for a year, in various states, when the other day, after what was already a productive afternoon, I dipped back into it in a careless, offhand way. Next thing I knew it was practically finished. And then it was finished, and with a bit of a change from the source material. Not sure where it stands otherwise or what it means to my other work, but I like its juiciness, both in paint quality and color.
